principal use residence
This building is an apartment with 4 rooms which is owned by an owner who has a strong will of
wanting to offer a place for exhibition, work and living for young and talented artists.
It has a half outside lounge with 5m ceiling height which is opened to the neighborhoods
on the first floor and a high and full of light living space on the second floor which can be
accessed by stairs exclusive for each room.
この建物は、「才能あふれる若いアーティストに、展示と作業、居住の場所を提供したい」という
強い意志を持ったお施主様による４戸の集合住宅です。
１階を近所にも開かれた天井高５mの半外部ラウンジ、そこから各々の専用階段をぐるっと回って、
高くて明るい２階の居住部屋に出るという構成になっています。
The road around the site is very narrow and it is a blind place but that is why a concept of
[neighborhood] is functioning rather than [urban] and [city].
Our concept was to create a space where a myriad of numbers of sense of distance can be felt.
[Neighborhood] and [street], [open space] for exhibition and work, [cabin] for living was what we
thought as a program.
敷地は道が狭く、見通しも悪い場所なのですが、だからこそ、「都市」や「街」とはちがう、
「近所」としかいい得ない概念が非常に機能している場所でもあります。
私たちは、「近所」と「道」と、展示や作業ができる「広場」と居住できる「小屋」をプログラムとして意識し、
家族ではない４人の居住者のための、無数の距離感を感じられるような空間を目指して設計を進めました。

入れたてのコーヒー、脱ぎたての靴下、脱ぎたてのコート、
隣家の窓明かり、鳥かご、寂しく鳴く小鳥
It is said that there are mysterious glasses that reverse
the scenery of the world.
When putting on this glasses, eyes become used to it and
the scenery returns normal but when taking off the
glasses the world looks up side down.
This architecture is similar to this mysterious glasses which
reverse the scenery.
世の中には景色の天地が反転する不思議なめがねがあるという。
このめがねをしばらくかけていると、目が慣れてきて正常な景色に戻り、
めがねを外すと、再び景色の天地が反転して見えるという。
この建築は、景色の天地が反転する不思議なめがねと似ている。
The scenery which is seen through this architecture will be dyed to
the color of this architecture and will change year by year.
Young person in pink shirt up holding flag might come
and go the streets which only people living in the neighborhood passed by.
People living in the neighborhood who doesn't usually care what is going on
around might be curious about the weirdness happening inside and peep.
An old man who becomes ingrained as a habit of the weirdness might come
to talk with the young person in pink shirt.
And when this architecture disappear some day, the scenery of the city which
is dyed by his architecture will remain for a while.
この建築越しに見える都市の景色は、この建築の色に染められ年々変化していくであろう。
今までご近所さんがたまに通るだけだった道は、ピンクのシャツを着た若者が
旗を掲げて行き交うかもしれない。普段まわりを気にしないご近所さんは、
この中での異様さが気になりのぞいていくかもしれない。
もしかしたら、意外にもその異様さがくせになったおじいさんが、
ピンクのシャツを着て熱い口調でおしゃべりしにくるかもしれない。
もうこれ以上はないだろうという停滞した街に
じわっと何かが通っていくような景色の変化が起きる。
そして、いつの日かこの建築がなくなったとき、この建築に
染められた都市の景色だけが、しばらくそのまま残るであろう。
