A house without a center.
When entering the room your surrounding suddenly lightens up and it becomes the center of the stage.
Layering mountains, surrounding forests and buildings turn out to be the background with depth and the more you walk,
the more continuously the stages with background appears.
In this house, where you are is the center of the stage.

中心がない家。部屋に入るとまわりがぱっと色づいて、ここが舞台の中心となる。
すると視界もぱっと開けて、まるで舞台を彩る装置のようにまわりの景色も色づく。
山々、近景の森、そして建物の姿が重なりながら奥行きのある背景を作り出す。
そして、歩けば歩くほど、背景とともに舞台が幾重にも連続的に現れていく。
この家では、自分の居場所が舞台の中心になる。

The hilly area of south Aso has been completely changed by the residential land development.
Our plan of the landscape design is to unite the building and the garden by relocating the soil,
which comes from the developed land and fixing the land into a terrace to go along with natural slope.

南阿蘇の丘陵地が宅地造成で変質した。
この造成地に盛られた土を中庭に上げ、元々の自然の傾斜に沿うような段々状の地形に修景し、
建物と庭が一体となったランドスケープデザインを構想している。

The whole roof is hanging over by S style cantilever from the RC wall,
which stops the soil to get into the courtyard. The landscape,
which goes down in layer towards the north side and the roof creates shadow,
which creates a place to stay.
The wild trees planted in the open space lets the sunlight stream through the leaves to the landscape.
Considering the effect of time passage and that time will pass before the building is made,
equipments are made by reproduced antique and mud is rubbed on the outside white wall.

全体に掛かる屋根は、Ｓ造のキャンチレバーで中庭の土留を兼ねたＲＣ壁から浮かせている。
屋根と北側に向かって段々状に下る地形が陰影をつくり、その影の部分を居所とする。
外の余白には、近隣の山に自生する木々を植え、木漏れ陽を地形に落とす。
時間代謝による効果（経年変化した空間が、使用者に面影を感じさせる）を考慮し、
竣工以前から時間が経過するよう、再生した古物で設備を製作したり、
外壁の白壁に泥を塗りこすった状態を仕上げとしている。
